I TUFTED THAT
From Garage to Studio: My Rug Tufting Journey
It all started during COVID, in my parents garage. With plenty of time and a spark of creativity, I picked up a tufting gun and began experimenting with rug making. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a passion.
Soon, I was creating custom pieces and selling them to local businesses. From logos to one-of-a-kind designs, my rugs found homes in shops, restaurants, and homes around town. Vendor shows became my go-to for connecting with people who loved the craft and wanted something unique.
Now, I’m taking the next big step — opening Bloomington’s first rug tufting studio! A space where you can come in, learn the art of tufting, and create your own rug from start to finish. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, planning a creative date, or just looking for a new experience, I’m excited to share this journey with you.

Pick an image
ALL Tufting frames will be stable with cloth already attached. After your image is approved, sketch your design on the cloth material as a guide for tufting. Choose from a variety of templates or bring your own design. Whether it’s a favorite character, logo, or abstract art, we’ll help you select a size and color palette to bring your vision to life.

practice round
In the practice round, your tufting instructor will guide you through a demonstration to familiarize you with basic tufting techniques and tools. They will explain the tufting machine's components, including the frame, yarn feed, and cutter, and demonstrate how to set up the machine with proper tension and alignment for even tufting.

Tuft your Rug!
With a tufting gun in hand, you’ll fill in your design using soft, vibrant acrylic yarn. Don’t worry if you’re a beginner — we’ll guide you through the process and provide tips to master the tufting technique.

WE CARVE EM
After you’ve completed your tufting session, we’ll take over. We’ll apply the backing, trim the yarn, and carve in fine details to add dimension and texture. This step ensures a clean, professional finish.
Your completed rug will be ready in about 2 weeks. We’ll carefully package and ship it straight to your door — a personalized masterpiece made by you!

I have researched and tested myself, the best materials to use for the perfect rug tufting experience. What I use to make my famous rugz, I provide for the studio.

The first hour is spent leaning the basics for rug tufting. The what to do vs what not to do. you will learn the skills to be successful while receiving feedback the entire workshop.

I will be with you every step of the way. I will be the problem solver, answering questions, checking the progress etc. I want you to leave happy, and an educated rug maker.
Shipping & Returns
At I Tufted That, all rugs are made to order and shipped directly to your door. Buyers are responsible for all shipping costs, which will be calculated at checkout based on your location and rug size.
Returns
At I Tufted That, each rug is handmade with care, and because every piece is custom-made just for you, we have a no return or exchange policy.
However, your satisfaction matters! If there’s an issue with your rug that was due to a mistake on my part — like a design error or a major craftsmanship flaw — please reach out within 48 hours of receiving your rug. I’ll review the concern and work with you to find a solution.
